Re: Antweight World Series 51 - Peasedown St. John, 29th October 2016

Apologies for the short notice (I have been terrible at getting myself organised this week >_<): Can anyone give me and Tracy a lift to/from the venue from Bath before and after the AWS? We'll be at the city centre travelodge, hopefully someone else is going that way and it's not too much of a detou...

Re: Antweight World Series 51 - Peasedown St. John, 29th October 2016

Have signed up J64 at least - I don't think I'll be able to have much else seriously done in time, although something may materialise from the collection of Chinese/Vanuatuan/otherwise Far Eastern parts on my bench for fun. Will sort out travel arrangements soon - wondering if anyone else is also ma...

Re: Antweight World Series 51 - Peasedown St. John, 29th October 2016

I think I should be able to make this - it's very short notice :( but managed to beg an afternoon off work to travel down. As Bath is Tears For Fears country I'll see if I can make a small weekend pilgrimage out of it!

Team Picus Telerobotics 2016 - Zantetsuken

Hiya everyone, I'm Joey. I've been around for quite a while, but I hope you'll allow me to have a build diary anyway. :) The last fleaweight I had fighting was Catatonia , which was quite ramshackle and never quite went in a straight line but was an awful lot of fun, especially in the rarefied envir...

Re: AWS 51

Honestly I'd have thought there's more than enough room for two events at the end of the year :) I'll happily go to both Bristol and Basingstoke, and anywhere else for that matter...

Where would most people be staying if it does go ahead in Somerset?

Re: A question about the sabertooth esc

Either way works; if one motor goes the opposite direction to how you want it to go, swap the wires!

Re: Design-Build of Fe, my first competitive ant.

0.75mm might work; I would look at spring steel maybe (ebay?) as that's probably going to have better antweight properties than mild steel for the same weight. Good luck with the build and weight!

Re: Design-Build of Fe, my first competitive ant.

The design looks good, but I trust you've done the weight calculation if you want to armour the entire robot in steel? You might be able to do it with less than 0.5mm thickness for that much surface area (going on eyeballing) but 0.2 or 0.3mm thick anything isn't going to offer much protection at all!

Das Mikro - £12 dual channel speed controller with mixing

Being a Description and full and frank Account of the Testing of an exciting new Brand of Motor Controller from the Orient by a reknowned Moron of few Talents and a frankly poor Grasp of the English Language, with Apologies The price of antweight speed controllers has gone down a bit over the years...
