Re: Newbie - DasMikro Burnout

it happened to me today, too. wired up properly, with no shorts (copied my other dasmikro). attached everything and powered up the circuit without turning on the tx. waited a bit.. all seemed fine. turned on the tx and wiggled the stick, and the motors moved.. then puff, pop, fire and i pulled the b...

Re: Things getting hot.

Re: Yet another new guy!

well, I'm a noob with a different servo, different esc, and a different tx/rc. plus i don't know why it moves, so I'm unlikely to shed any light.. :P my servo moves twice; once on powering up, to a random anticlockwise position, then again when the tx is turned on, to a set position. it's always the...

Re: New member, new antweight robot build diary, Unknown Name (currently)

i think i know that one - they're moon buggy wheels from pimoroni. i bought some myself. :) dunno what they're made from, but the tyres are very tacky. thin, too, so a spinner would shred them easily. the wheels are made from 4 parts.. 2 cog-like 45mm wheels, with square inner parts https://shop.pim...

Re: Another noob bot

thanks for the advice! i had heard of the pink servo, but as i expect my first bot to be sent flying into the corner, burning, with wires and cracked polycarb strewn everywhere by a malfunctioning weaponless walker, then i should probably stick to a cheap servo initially. :) i have also read that ti...

Re: Another noob bot

not much progress, yet again. :P Well.. not on my bot, but my sons Lego bot has been rebuilt three times. two wheel bot, four wheel bot, windmills, and a tracked bot. I have learned that 4 wheels are way better than two, and that plastic tracks are rubbish. I've been waiting for switches for the pow...

Re: 'Harder Than It Looks' Build

ooh - sorry for my bad info. just realized i forgot to mention I'm a noob too, and was really just speculating on possibilities (was hoping the question marks would indicate i didn't actually know)
