Re: ESC questions & why not USA shipping

Ut Oh... Just got a message from the ebay seller I bought the 6 esc's from. He said that due to the cor.vir. The shipment would either be delayed for two weeks or he could refund my money. "Sorry to bother you. We are sorry to let you know that we could only send out the item to you in 10-15 bu...

Re: Building an arena question

Re Antweight arena design .. I designed and built the Ant arena that we use here. It has a fighting floor area of 1100mm x 1400mm with pits at each end. Originally there were low pit walls, with 250mm wide openings/drop offs, but later 150mm high pit walls and sliding pit "gates" were add...

Re: Building an arena question

If its any consolation, I think that ½ inch thick poly would be substantial overkill for an Antweight arena. 4mm thick is fine, or 6mm to be conservative. Thanks. Yeah I know, but it would have been cool... I should have known the price was too good. But as soon as he said something was wrong with ...

Re: Building an arena question

Welp, the guy on Craigslist who led me to believe that they were new sheets with some of the paper peeled off turned out to say they had some scratches but the centers were clear. He refused to text me a picture saying that his phone was broken. That's when he said they were scratched up but I could...

Unorthodox bot question

Hi What kind of servo does unorthodox run? I think Kyro said it was 8kg.cm/0.045s and weighed about 70g. Is 8kg force at that speed enough to throw a 50g bot (one of wedge wedge wedge) all the way across the arena or is it more? Is that the servo that bot uses? I haven't worked out the physics formu...

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?

Just putting one of my controllers together for my new ring spinner and thought the spec might be of interest. It can take the Lemon DSM2 receiver mounted on pins, has a 5V 1.5A low dropout BEC, 4A on each of the two drive channels, both 5v and full bat out on the servo connector, power switch and ...

Re: Charger for antweight (and good practices)

I received the charger and the battery today. This is the imax b6 v2, so almost the same you have I think. I only used to storage mode so far, it seems to work well. Thanks for you answer! Would those of you who have this charger still recommend it today @ about $36? Or has something else come alon...

Re: Building an arena question

A central pit would definitely be an interesting change, but depending on design could be a bit of a pain to clear out after every fight, especially if something small but important flies in there. One good thing about the Bugglebots pit is it's designed so it can be accessed from underneath the ar...

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?

Oh yes - I will make all power connections (battery + motors) be pin-through-hole or wire-through-hole, with nice big holes (1mm) and big annular rings to allow lots of nice solder to flow on them. I hate soldering wires to tiny delicate pads, that's what always breaks the Dasmikros. (In current de...

Re: Building an arena question

I'm also interested in any stage ideas you might have. I was reading in the nano forum that people were interested in a stage with a centrally located pit. If I build a 5x5 or 6x6 outer box cube this would allow for substantial flexibility in the types of stages I could use. Is a stage with a centra...
