Re: 3D printers

I finally ordered a Prusa Mk3

What do people usually use to print their bot parts?

I was looking at PTEG which looked promising.

Re: Building an arena question

Probably worth mentioning that wedgelets ain't that big a thing in the UK antweight world. Here, getting under another pusher tends to be down to acetate. In terms of arena design, Peter's is certainly my favourite and it's what I based my own practice arena on. FWIW I think it's a design that ensu...

Re: Building an arena question

One more question for the group. Assuming the base design Peter Waller's antweight arena (which I take as the gold standard) with 4 pits (two surrounded by low walls, two open with edge protectors) Would you change the surface area of the arena at all (if so how)? That's it, that's the main question...

Re: Building an arena question

Thanks Mike! Re magnets on the Antweights becoming contentious here .. I initially made the floor with galvanised sheet steel as it seemed to be cost effective and likely durable. But after a while it occurred to me to build a bot with magnets to see if there was much benefit. Of course, not being a...

Re: AWS 62 - Summer/Autumn 2021

Would two arenas help any with this? It's likely people in the building and not bots in the contest though so maybe not.

Re: Building an arena question

Re Antweight arena design .. I designed and built the Ant arena that we use here. It has a fighting floor area of 1100mm x 1400mm with pits at each end. Originally there were low pit walls, with 250mm wide openings/drop offs, but later 150mm high pit walls and sliding pit "gates" were add...

This is Peter Waller's arena thread. The pictures don't show up on my tablet, but they do show up on the computer.

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?

A minor status update, the current prototype is now close to the final form factor, I've made a few (minor) cock-ups in this design, but it was not final anyway. These will be fixed in the next respin. It looks like it will probably work and drive 1.8 amps per channel, I need to do a lot more testi...

Re: Team Ions build diary

Hi everyone! I'm fine. Nearly Everyone is self quarantined at my work. The change to teaching and administrative course management from home is very tedious and time consuming. I haven't had much time for robots and my chinese parts were mia. I also haven't finished ordering stuff like batteries or ...
