Re: Rule 3c - Arena Drop-off
I have never, ever stated my opinions to be fact. I tried to be as unbiased as possible while writing the first post of this thread, but obviously it's difficult for me to be entirely unbiased when I am firmly on one side of the discussion, and so I of course welcome opposition. I have said, and I ...

Re: Rule 3c - Arena Drop-off
Some however argue that intentionally trying to tip the balance of successful designs and strategies in a way intended to make more kinds of robots and strategies have an equal chance is not something that should be done. There are also those who believe that reducing the drop-off will actually tip...

Re: The AWS43 Feedback Thread
Less drop off is required to even the playing field between different designs and types of robots. This is an often used quote so I will ask a question: Asides from the design of the robots, what advantage does the existing drop off give to any particular robot? I put it to you all that it is none....

Re: The AWS43 Feedback Thread
If I had any concern over AWS 43, it would be the amount of room around the doorway. 8 competitors in queue? Also a lack of places to stand. Humans can't sit for long periods of time. Concerning drop off, I'd like to formally object to the minimising of the drop off zone. People don't drop off the e...

Re: Scot-Bots Antweight Championship April 20th/21st 2014
I'm not looking for feathers, I just mean if people who are attending have feathers then they'd be welcome to bring them. Why would moving the date one day closer to the Gadget Show give people more time to get them ready after it? :-? . I read the 15th was an option in the post. So the suggestion ...

Tony,
If it's feathers you are after, it'll probably be worth making it the 19/20th to put more time between the fw Championship & the event. Although that does put it a week before Guildford.
Class 5 arena I take it?

From Robot Wars star to Star Wars robot. Well done.
If you're stuck for dialogue, I hear Craig Charles knows a few jokes...
What adverts were those mentioned may I ask?

Re: New B: First post, First RC, First robot
Hello to you all. I have been following the forum for the last few weeks after being inspired by the Robots Live event in Norwich. My 5yr old son is mad on Robot Wars and I thought an ant weight would be a great Father Son project. Welcome. Lovely to see more new faces. Just one warning, it gets re...
