Re: Coping with the demand (An EO's perspective)

I personally would prefer the possibility of 4 entries, with shorter fights to allow more time, rather than 3 entries. I do understand if it gets dropped to 3 entries on the day to reduce numbers for antlog though. I agree with kyro about being more restricted about delays due to robots not being re...

Re: Coping with the demand (An EO's perspective)

Coming from a newbie, with what I saw yesterday: In my opinion, a second arena would help speed things up, but with some drawbacks. Venues would probably have to be larger to accommodate the second arena (pushing costs up) and extra time allowances would probably have to be made for teams who have m...

Armour /chassis material

Hello, I have a few questions about making the main body of my robot now I've done the electronics: I've heard about some of the strengths and weaknesses of using hdpe and polycarbonate, but if you were making the chassis/Armour combined out of them, what are the best ways to connect them? I've hear...

Re: Is this right?

OK, that's alright then (it's not my wiring). I fried it with the soldering iron accidentally, so I need a new board either way. I knew one motor wouldn't work, I just wasn't sure if the fact neither motor worked was due to me not wiring it right!

Is this right?

I connected up my DasMikro ESC last night and although the receiver lights up and the servo responds to the transmitter, neither motor moves. Although I have only connected one signal wire (I fried one connection and probably need a new ESC), am I right in that at least one motor should still be mov...

Servo straight to battery

Just wanted to check that I'm right in assuming that if I'm going to wire the Servo straight to the battery, I just have to cut the positive and negative wires that would normally go to the receiver and connect them straight to the battery.

Re: Increasing numbers

How about you can enter 4 robots:
1 - roller
2 - roller
3 - walker/cluster
4 - roller (reserve)

Re: No control

Hey I recorded a video of my attempts to bind. Before I turned on with the sticks in the correct position (left stick down) The bind plug is in the plug marked batt/bind https://youtu.be/MViQ45Z0PTo Afterwards I turned both off, removed the bind plug, turned back on with the sticks in the same posit...

Re: No control

I'll try to take some photos/videos over the weekend. I won't be in the same house as it until Sunday now anyway.
Hopefully the answer will be that despite all my research on how to do everything, I've just done something (small and easy to fix) wrong while binding it.

Re: No control

I haven't got any spares at the moment to be honest, but I have 2 separate speed controllers, and neither motor turns, even if I attach them separately, so I'm starting to think either the transmitter or receiver doesn't work
