Re: Team Kaizen - Ikari
I would think that could be it, you'd have thought I would have learnt from the featherweight Anyway, new brushless ESC and motor on its way.

Re: Team Kaizen - Ikari
So I think I've taken a wrong turning... the 10A speed controller just doesn't want to work with the NanoTwo v3 when plugged into the third channel. I am sure I've soldered in the ESC correctly as I use the same model on Shu! and copied that. Luckily, I have a HV servo laying around that does work i...

Re: Rule Debates
That's another good point, looking back on the forum the "no commercialy available vehicles" rule was debated and agreed a while ago, but it doesn't appear to have been added to the rules officially. Do you have the link to the topic handy for that? I am personally on the fence with this ...

Re: Team Kaizen - Ikari
Found a bit of time between other robotic commitments to get the arm for the spinning bar mounted onto the robot. I am beginning to slightly regret using 3mm PVC as the bodywork for this - it is a OK material to work but I've got visions of the arm shattering. Hopefully, the way the arm is mounted s...

Re: Rule Debates
A single contact does not make for a fight, I agree and anyone watching/judging the fight would also see that. However, I do see your point, you could have something rolled up in the flying robot, release it at the start of the fight to have a canvas and then pin it to the roof. Depends on wherever ...

Re: Rule Debates
The amount of scenarios where a drone could claim 'victory' in the rules against a proper opponent just by floating about is the stuff of nightmares for anyone interested in fairness or practicality or judging. In judging, surely the lack of any meaningful aggression would count against a flying ro...

Re: Rule Debates
Touching the bottom of a pit, exactly the same as when spinners become airbourne. The question was sort of meant in humour. ;) In arenas where there is a significant difference between the floored part of the arena and the polycarbonate wall (such as mine, where the floored area is 810mm squared as...

Re: Rule Debates
Personally, I would encourage flying antweights as a singular competitor or as part of a cluster. However, in doing so, certain arenas will effectively inhibit the use of such things because of their dimensions so if we want to encourage the meaningful use of flying antweights, that might require mo...

Re: Rule Debates
In addition to the multi-robot rule clarification I proposed in a previous topic (if only to make it explicitly clear), that being the following... 5g) A team may enter a maximum of four robots. i. Upon entering four robots, three can be of any mobility currently permitted, the fourth must be either...
