Re: Team BLEEP build diary

Yup - tis an i6 alright. I've adjusted the sticks a bit since last time, and I've already adjusted the rates. I intended to add resistors for a bit of braking, but that'll have to wait. The main thing will be practise, I think. I never managed that in its previous incarnations. I need to run a gaunt...

Re: Team BLEEP build diary

I still haven't moved house. Most of my robot stuff is in storage. But I kept some back! I kept my parts box, a few bits of polycarb, and my only completed bots; Sprouting Potato and Fermented Melon. No way of soldering properly, so I have to use the same electronics. Fermented Melons electronics we...

Re: ESC Sanity check

There appears to be 1.8A versions that're ever so slightly cheaper (than 5A versions from China).

They're using a mixture of images, so who knows what'll actually turn up (I bought one) . :P

Re: 3D Printer recommendations?

I've got an Ender 3. It can print ABS, but you'll need an enclosure of some kind (unless you have a nice warm area to work in). It can print PETG, too, but it requires careful setup for that. There can be some build quality issues with Ender 3s, but not usually anything that can't be fixed fairly ch...

Re: Coping with the demand (An EO's perspective)

I wouldn't mind donating. £5 per robot seems cheap to me, considering the amount of work and money you guys have to spend on helping us to have fun. The 2+1 rule sounds good, as it'll get people thinking about what to enter, rather than just making bots to fill their quota. As a sort-of northerner (...

Aren't crushers usually hydraulic?

Re: Team BLEEP build diary

progress report: naff all! So, I thought I had lots of time to plan the next bot. I made a 4-bar flipper design that rocks, and I intended to field it for AWS 58, but I felt like a rest, so didn't build it straight away... Then my wife got a job in Leeds, and so we need to move house before Septembe...

Re: Antweight World Series 58 - 29th June 2019

Haven't been on here much or able to do any new bots or anything due to moving house Must be summat in the air! I've also had to put a lot of bot plans on the backburner due to needing to move house. Unfortunately, we're in the searching phase, and every weekend is vital, so I don't think I'm gonna...
