Speed holes are a good way to lose those last few grams - I've done that on just the base plates of some of my bots and saved a couple of grams there.
Solderburn's looking good!

Re: T_Y's Build Log
Had an interesting week. I found out that my soldering iron had died, so I had to rush buy one off amazon XD. Another thing I found out is that the titanium I have doesn't seem to like sharp 90 degree bends (or at least, the way I was bending it), and was shearing along the fold. So I'm going to sti...

Re: T_Y's Build Log
I haven't had the chance to wire it all up yet. I should have time to do that this weekend. I'm planning on having translation on the right stick (ELE for forwards/backwards, AIL for left/right) and use RUD for turning. I've worked out how the wheels should turn with either left stick or right stick...

Re: T_Y's Build Log
I think for AWS 60 I'll just use two Arduinos, one for each DRV8833. This will let me re-use my existing code to PWM in both directions to some degree, so I can focus on getting the mechanum wheel design to work. I've assembled the wheels and printed the chassis off. Temporarily fixing the component...

That motor doesn't look healthy!

Re: T_Y's Build Log
I thought I needed 2 PWM pins per H-bridge :S *Checks Adafruit DRV8833 documentation* Huh. That makes things a bit simpler! So it looks like I only need 1 PWM pin per H-bridge - the Arduino Pro Mini has 6 so I'm good then, thanks for pointing that out! Each DRV8833 board also has a sleep pin, which ...

Re: T_Y's Build Log
The plough will be hinged, so it scrapes the ground, but alas, I won't be able to power the plough - there's just not enough room or weight to do so!

Re: T_Y's Build Log
So, CAD work has progressed, I now have the design of the whole bot and have a chassis printed off ready for assembly. https://i.imgur.com/zy3wB9O.png https://i.imgur.com/OY3srQp.png It prints off in a single piece with no supports, taking nearly 8 hours! It took me a while to settle on the design, ...
