Re: JaZzMaN251's Build Log

I rarely tend to go up to the weight limit. My ants usually max out at about 130g nowadays without significant disadvantage.

Re: JaZzMaN251's Build Log

Hi. There is quite a predominant Dutch community of roboteers. They mostly play at the Dutch Robot Games (or FACTS more recently) which is worth a Google, or they cross over into Germany for Mad Metal Machines. They are a great bunch of people, very welcoming. The robot looks nice and solid. Good lu...

Re: Antescher Assault Systems build diary

It's an impressive curve. Curves are hard! Especially with the 4" cube rule.

I really hope you are at least getting a small sense of pride from your builds. They are great - different and full of personality.

Re: Rule Debates

We used to run a non-spinner warm up competition but time is far too tight nowadays. Adding any secondary tournament to an AWS day is pretty much impossible unless the numbers drop again. I think non-spinner comps are a good idea at non-AWS events but I don't really see the point at the official one...

My robots are in a box ready to be posted to England. They will travel further than me for this event :P

Re: Walker rule clarification? Unusual design.

I also agree with that approach. We do try our damndest not "ban" anything that has turned up to an event without good reason (obviously largely overweight, dangerous or explicitly illegal robots have to be altered or withdrawn but you get my gist).

It definitely doesn't look as bad as you seem to think it does! Looking forward to seeing it go.

Re: Walker rule clarification? Unusual design.

Yeah, sorry Lincoln, it was poorly written now I read it back. I meant oval wheels, tracks and the like should not qualify for a 4th. The numbers thing is strange. For example, theoretically, if I was told I couldn't enter my walker in the upcoming AWS due to numbers, but then handed it to a team wi...
