Re: A Hotel, constructed of Limas, for Ants: A Build Diary

Ayyy! New motors are here! Just waiting for the Pinless Lemons to arrive before total rebuilds happen. That said, I'm excited to see if these N20s make the difference to my speed - gonna swap out the old N20s in the existing Key Grip for a test-drive!

Re: Antweight World Series 58 - 29th June 2019

Absolutely planning to attend, and you can bet I'm gonna buy a AWESC to contribute! ... Just as soon as I work out what Legacy Calibration is and if I want it... I'll probably go for unmixed honestly, as I know how to compensate for any component lag using the mixing on the transmitter and wouldn't ...

Re: Need a new esc

Personally I have yet to regret my dasmikros. I like lemons for the rx. End pins are nice yeah, but they're heavy and take up space.

Re: Team Pompidou First Antweight Build

A good iron is nothing to laugh at, that's for sure. I make do with my £10 one from b&q (even if I do regularly need to file a new point because the thing Keeps melting) but a nice iron is high on my wishlist. Best o luck!

Re: A Hotel, constructed of Limas, for Ants: A Build Diary

Sadly my Jewelers anvil is tiny - it's great for shaping wire, but rather underwhelming for this. I'm also playing with different thicknesses of Polycarb - like, I had used 1.5mm for the base as I figured it'd give the best rigidity for mounting components. And armour itself too - how much differenc...

Re: A Hotel, constructed of Limas, for Ants: A Build Diary

And just to confirm - the plug is just a straight bridge across the signal and ground, right? IE. Top and bottom, skip the middle. I'd be AMAZED if I'm wrong here, but just for peace of mind and to have it in clear writing from someone who knows what they're doing :D Got paid yesterday, motors are o...

Re: Botbitz 10 amp ESCs for weapon

Ohkay that's good to know. Yeah, that EMAX looks GOOD. Mind you, if they carry your recommendation I guess they would be! Out of curiosity is overvolting a servo just a really bad idea? I kinda figured that as we don't tend to massively stress our servos it'd be relatively fine? But yeah, thanks for...

It really is as simple as that? Nice.
As soon as I get paid I'm gonna drop a fresh order of Lemons. :D

Re: Parts For First Time Antweight Build

Servos... you've picked an unfortunate time friend. The BEST servo for antweight flippers has recently gone out of production, which is sad. For servos you want to make sure it has enough torque (I dunno how much enough is - the Pink servo had 3.7kg which was easily enough) and that it's FAST (The p...

Re: Botbitz 10 amp ESCs for weapon

It used to be the servo of choice was the TURNIGY™ TGY-306G-HV ULTRA FAST/HIGH TORQUE DS/MG/HV ,or the "Pink" servo. Unfortunately they seem to have ceased production on them which SUCKS! Those servos were 20g so not the lightest, but had 3.7kg of torque and had a 60 degree rotation time o...
