Re: T_Y's Build Log
I asked about those Micron Wings ESCs, they have no BEC and only drive in one direction Those JMTs seem promising though, what is the purpose of the switch on them?

Re: T_Y's Build Log
Paulmchurd does bring up a good point about the weight. especially because I'll be running 2 of them plus the vex! Did a bit more looking and found these ones from Micron Wings . They're much lighter at only 4 grams and smaller too, for just a few extra quid. No idea about reliability or reputation ...

Re: T_Y's Build Log
Ah right, thanks for that! I was under the impression that it somehow put both signals through the one connection. In hindsight, that doesn't make sense.

Re: Hello, World! - A Newbie's First Robot
It's been a while since the last update, due to the exam season rearing its head once more. :( I have not been idle, however... Introducing Percussive Maintenance, the axe-bot of doom armed with an almighty 8.2g mini-spanner! ...okay that might be a bit of an exaggeration. :D https://i.imgur.com/KOW...

Re: Hello, World! - A Newbie's First Robot
I've got the cut-outs done for the wheels now. I used copious amounts of masking tape to put the armour together in the shape of the final robot. https://i.imgur.com/yJmvQpH.jpg I've also test fitted some of the components inside. They fit! https://i.imgur.com/9i9TX4u.jpg The bonus here is the weigh...

Re: Hello, World! - A Newbie's First Robot
I've got the basic shapes cut out of the HDPE now, next step is to cut out the openings for the wheels. https://i.imgur.com/lK90G1m.jpg I also need to sand off the edges so they're flush, and angling the edges correctly. A friend was kind enough to 3D print the brackets for me, I should get them in ...

Re: Hello, World! - A Newbie's First Robot
I think the slim-wing can handle 7.4V https://hobbyking.com/en_us/corona-cs-239hv-analog-slim-wing-servo-metal-gear-4-6kg-13sec-22g.html The tgy-306g is a lot faster, but I'm not confident enough yet with my electronics skills that I wouldn't damage it and waste money! But it's definitely something ...

Yeah, I'm a student there. The hackspace is a good shout- I've just had a look on their page, they've got a load of useful tools like 3D printers.
