Re: Mark's Antweight build
Paul, thanks for the suggestion: I found another nice looking h-bridge. The dasmikro seems to have been taken off banggood. https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stepper-Dual-Motor-Drive-Controller-Board-TB6612FNG-Replace-L298N-for-Arduino-PI/262840221598?epid=547517332 After the untimely demise of the Dasmikro,...

Re: Mark's Antweight build
Oh cock. It was all going swimmingly (see above picture). But now my Dasmikro seems to have blown up, during a test this evening one channel got locked on full power, and the smoke came out. I will need to totally disassemble it to see if it's a gonner (probably yes) - it does not smell nice. Looks ...

Re: N20 gear motors from China...
Update: The 0ohm short-circuit motor, I decided to use as a "mechanical prototype" that I could bash around as much as I wanted, trying to make it fit. Essentially, I connected it mechanically to my flipper and started bashing it around a bit. To my extreme surprise, it seems to have "...

Re: Powering balance charger
I connected an old laptop PSU to mine, which gives out about 18V, which appears to work.
But there is a cut-off, I think about 20v is too much. I tried another laptop PSU which is about 20v, that didn't work, it just gave a flashing light.

Re: Mark's Antweight build
Hardware is nearly finished, the flipper works mechanically (if not yet electrically)

Re: Team Dudge build diaries.
That looks super awesome.
What is the armour / structure made of? What material?
Is it really strong enough to whack the hammer with only one side connected to the motor?
That metal piece with grub screw looks pretty solid.

Re: Mark's Antweight build
It is looking better now, but without much more functionality, I need a lot more time to work on the software, get the flipper made and stuff.
I also think I need some smaller / lighter battery pack, maybe will pick up a 180mAh 3S?

Nice bot, Drax Power, a box on wheels.
I hope the black fits the aesthetic you had in mind, it's the PLA that I happened to have handy!

Re: Yet another 3D printing tips thread
Hi, First of all, from lurking around the site I've seen that PLA won't be enough to make it in a battle, so my first question is: is ABS printed with 100% infill still the best bet? I've just had a go with some Innofil Pro1, which is a form of PLA which is, in most respects, stronger than ABS, but ...

Re: The adventures of an antweight robot building nerb
I haven't tried a soldering iron. To be honest, I doubt it, soldering irons are too hot and too localised for that kind of thing... but if you manage, do please post the results. More likely would be a "soldering rework station" hot air gun, which can apply extremely hot air to a very loca...
