I tend to use a large pair of Tin snips but it gets a bit difficult when you get to 2mm Ali, but that could be because they are very rusty and in need of a replacement. :(

I also just noticed that the Xmods wheels fit the mini gear motors which is quite cool because you can have a range of different alloy style rims   I've just ordered some truck wheels to see how they fit too. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m570.l1313&_nkw=xmods+wh...

Both ways work because both have a 0v wire, hence, only one wire needs to be moved. Why the seperate regulator? I can't see much point in it because you get full battery voltage through the servo meaning more weapon power without it. We'll last time I accidentally ran a fully charged 2 cell lipo th...

I didn't know you could do that. I was running the same servo off the battery (both leads) through a seperate voltage regulator and the signal lead connecting to the receiver!

I finally got my first bot (nearly) finished. It only needs some minor modifications to the flipper. Note that i forgot to put the battery and motor controller back in the robot for the photo. If any of you are wondering about the odd armour it was because there was a mix up at the shop iIbuy my met...

The HS82-MG's sound good so I'll be switching to them as soon as I can.

Currently my robot looks like this:

It is a bit messy but you can see the servo sits above evrything else. All I need is to sort out the flipper arm.

I think for now I will keep the HPX and see how it goes at the next event before deciding what to do with it.

However I do like the suggestions and will probably use one of them when if i find a change is probably needed, thank you.

Best flipper weapon servo?

I am currently using a Supertec HPX/F as a servo but I feel it is too heavy and uneccessarily powerful so am looking to upgrade to something around or preferebly under the 10g mark. Idealy a Speed s/60 of around 0.10, I am unsure of the appropriate torque amount but the mechanisism is either a stand...
