Re: Team Coolspeedbot's robot builds

Wow been a while since any updates on the ants thats mostly cause of work and being focused on my Featherweight Coolspeedbot which I took to Extreme Robots Maidstone. But anyway heres whats happing with the Ants. Killer-Wolf 2.0/2.5: After getting Fusion 360 I redid the CAD for Killer-Wolf's 2.5 cha...

Re: Team Coolspeedbot's robot builds

Already making plans for a Killer-Wolf 2.5. A simple improvement on the design making it more compact to make it lighter so I can remove the weight saving holes and improve the shape. about 5mm shorter in height and shorter in length. That has resulted in a weight saving of around 5 grams when it wa...

Re: Team Coolspeedbot's robot builds

So I finally got round to CADing Bunny-Ears 2.0. https://78.media.tumblr.com/1d7c95ad3cc579b73110222706eae2bf/tumblr_p628kbiaEc1venf23o2_1280.png Loaded test STL files to Cura to get a rough weight estimate looking at roughly 58g for all the parts. https://78.media.tumblr.com/28800e1f1afb4b2c7dab246...

Re: Team Coolspeedbot's robot builds

Been a while, I've been focusing on my featherweight lately, but I've been working most of the day working on a new bot concept based on a bot I build in Garry's Mod. As you'll see bit of a change from flipper bots I'm mostly building. I've most likely gone a little ambitious with it mostly cause I ...

Re: Team Coolspeedbot's robot builds

A switch like this might be suitable: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pushbutton-switch-sub-miniature-SP-N-O-High-quality-new-Miyama-part-MS-402-Qty-1-/122344138128?_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l4275.c10 You will have to open up the Dx5 and check how much space you have against the size of the component. Don't...

Re: Team Coolspeedbot's robot builds

Decals added and another weight check, weighing it more then once to make sure I’m not getting a inaccurate reading averaging 148g-149g so it’s in weight. So I can safely say Killer-Wolf 2.0 is ready (technically it was already good to go for AWS 53 but couldn’t go due to travel limitations) So whil...

Re: Team Coolspeedbot's robot builds

After some dremel work to sand out some rough finishes left by the printing supports I started transferring the logo and label from Killer-Wolf 1.5 to Killer-Wolf 2.0 (unless it puts it over weight). Also finally got Alex’s (Shakey) wheels fitted too, bit of a tight fit on the D shafts so I hope I d...

Re: Using spare chassis

i believe you are referring to some of my robots we just used hot melt glue to stick the necessary bits back together. it would also take about an hour to rebuild the entire robot into a different chassis even if i did print spare chassis. however i do sometimes have spare parts like motor mounts, ...

Re: Using spare chassis

Can't comment on spare chassis as I don't sue them but I can say on 3d printed robots being destroyed then being fine from my own team. 3d printed robots can actually be super easy to repair, especially if they are ABS with acetone, you can basically glue them back together to near new as long as y...

Using spare chassis

After watching the video of AWS 53 and past events a question comes to mind. In some videos I've seen some 3D printed bots get wreaked by spinners with huge structural damage, but their following fight they are fully repaired. So my question is, are bots aloud to use spare chassis? Or are the bots j...
