Re: T_Y's Build Log

An Arduino controller sounds like an interesting project to do! I'm wondering if it's possible to connect a normal receiver's signal wires to the IO pins on the Arduino instead of using the NRF24LO1, so I can just use the transmitter I've already got instead of custom building one.

Ah okay, that explains the low cost.

Re: T_Y's Build Log

I've spent some time trying to slim down Percussive Maintenance to get it into the weight allowance. A tail armour panel was added to keep the wires in and the wiring has been tidied up somewhat so it fits inside the shell completely. It's a very tight fit though. I trimmed down some screws and perf...

@DieGracefullyRobotics
Oh yeah, it didn't occur to me that there would be a weight issue with paint.

Re: T_Y's Build Log

So for the past few days, every available surface in my room has looked like a robot vomited all over it, while I've been sorting out the wiring. I've cut a larger shell, gaining about 6mm height and 1.5cm in the tail, and I can juuuuuuust about fit everything in, aside from some wires that need sho...

Re: T_Y's Build Log

@Paulmchurd
I'm a short cycle away, that would actually be quite handy, thanks. Want to discuss in PM?

Re: T_Y's Build Log

Quick update, I've been doing some wiring and soldering today. The weapon ESC arrived, so now I have everything except some more motor mounts.

Looks like I was right, the current shell is too small, so it's back to the Sketchup model to get some extra space inside.

Re: T_Y's Build Log

Thanks everyone! As I said earlier, I do want to re-cut the panels at some point, but for now the shell will suffice. @paulmchurd I picked up a Monoprice Maker Select Plus on Amazon for £290, it's amazing so far. I think it's just a rebrand of the Wanhao that you've got? I have not had the chance to...

Re: T_Y's Build Log

It's been a while since the last update! My exams are over now, so I can dedicate a lot more time to getting the bots up and running for the end of the month. So I maaaayyyyy have treated myself and picked up a 3D printer... I've spent a fair amount of time printing off random bits and bobs. I'm dis...

Re: My 1st Build & More questions than answers.

Hi there! I'm running the same setup in one of my bots. If it helps, here is an adapted wiring diagram for just the drive element (Brown is signal, Red is power, Black is ground), assuming you are mixing the elevator and aileron channels on the transmitter (I'm using a Devo 7e for this): https://i.i...
