Ohhh I really hope Manticore draws Percussive Maintenance at AWS. Two 150g hammers trying to bash each other sounds hilarious to me.
Looks good!

Re: T_Y's Build Log
Ahhh. Yeah that sounds awkward. Fair enough. I've only any experience driving with Rory's controllers and on those it's just let the stick centre to brake. Having to pull down, centre, then pull down again to reverse sounds a nuisance. Cheers for the explanation.

Re: T_Y's Build Log
Maybe I missed something but I'm curious how come you want your drive controllers without braking?

Re: Fulford's Ant
Looking good so far. As an alternative to the hot glue, the basic 2 part resin glue from wilkos or places like that seems to stick to polycarbonate quite well. I tried sticking motor mounts to a kind of bracket with hot glue and it just wasn't strong enough, first time it fell from my coffee table (...

Re: Team Dudge build diaries.
@voorsk ahhh I liked it too but alas no LED this time. I don't want to drill through the wedge and also even though they didn't weigh much, he's so tight on weight I can't spare any for the wires and the led.

Re: Team Dudge build diaries.
Haven't wired him back up yet so no video of him driving around yet but I did just about finish building the body of the bot :-) It's a close fit both for weight and for the 4" cube. He'll squeeze in though. Should get time over the weekend to get the wires in and then it's both bots ready for ...

Re: Team Dudge build diaries.
Yup 180mah ones here. And yeah they last a good amount of time.
And Eddie haha strangely enough I'm the opposite, I prefer the look of the polycarbonate after painting. I'm not done drilling and sanding yet or it would be black already.

Re: Team Dudge build diaries.
The Third Law rebuild is well underway! He didn't need rebuilding per se, he was working fine, but I wanted a new project and rebuilding him was going to be lots cheaper than a whole new bot project. Plus - there were a bunch of ways to make him better. Because unlike Manticore with his toffee hamme...

Re: Rule Debates
When I started watching ants last year I used to wish there was less drop off in the commonly seen arenas. Then as I watched a lot more footage of tournaments from recent years it won me round a bit. An arena that saw full 3 min fights too often would be problematic. In fact IIRC at ant freeze 5 it ...
