Re: CNC Machining

Try ProtoMold. They do injection molding and CNC. Turnaround is quick but prices are a bit steep.

Alternatively I regularly put antweight stuff in with the company jobs so can arrange SLS or CNC work if necessary.

Re: Which 3D printer is best for home use

Hi Peter, We just bought a few of the UP mini machines to run at an exhibition. Awesome little machines, and I'm sure the full size UP is just as good. We've also just invested in an Objet 30 Pro but that's a slightly different price range... I'd recommend the UP machines. You can hack the code, so ...

Re: I'm giving up

The frame was originally designed to internally house a Typhoon 3/3D. Here's some images from my original builds: http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b330/joshiv/DSC03438.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b330/joshiv/DSC03469.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b330/joshiv/DSC03538.jpg http://i2...

Re: 3D Printing discount

Hi, I have a machine running early next week. I can run pieces under 25mm tall in one direction for £0.70/cm3 +VAT +£3 shipping this time. I need confirmation asap and files by Sunday night. If you have pieces over 25mm I may be able to run them but that depends how many people have stuff to print. ...

Re: 3D Printing discount

The machine is now full. There is a small amount of room for items such as wheels, but I cannot fit any more large chassis pieces in on this print.

Re: 3D Printing discount

Those sending me files from Sketchup, can you send me the .skp/skb files please - rather than .dae. Now I appreciate what Shapeways has to do to let us use Sketchup! They are actually horribly damaged files when you try to pull them into something like Solidworks as a model... On the note of another...

These will go through the machine on Tuesday and they should be cleaned and shipped on Thursday/Friday from the factory in central London.

Re: 3D Printing discount

Hi Guys, I could do with confirmation and files by Sunday night. I can stretch to Monday afternoon but no further for this print. If there is enough interest however I can run another print in a week or so. Price on this round will be £0.50/cm3 +VAT and Shipping for items under 50mm tall in at least...

3D Printing discount

Hi Guys,

I'll be doing a print run in Nylon - same quality as Shapeways WSAF.
I purchase an entire print bed from the factory and fill it. I have some spare space so if anybody has some parts that need printing drop me a message and I'll do them nice and cheap for you.

Best,
J

Re: Polycarbonate vs HDPE

I saw somewhere somebody used copper wire between two pieces and ran a current through it. The heat of the wire created an evenly welded joint. You could do the same thing using thin fuse wire potentially. Possibly somebody will know where I saw it? I think it could have been the FRA forum... EDIT: ...
