Re: Rule Debates

Personally, I would encourage flying antweights as a singular competitor or as part of a cluster. However, in doing so, certain arenas will effectively inhibit the use of such things because of their dimensions so if we want to encourage the meaningful use of flying antweights, that might require mo...

Re: Rule Debates

In addition to the multi-robot rule clarification I proposed in a previous topic (if only to make it explicitly clear), that being the following... 5g) A team may enter a maximum of four robots. i. Upon entering four robots, three can be of any mobility currently permitted, the fourth must be either...

Re: AWS55 - 30th June 2018 - Dunchurch Village Hall

Many thanks, had me worried for a moment ;) Might be worth clarifying the wording of that rule then to be more explicit... something like this perhaps? 5g) A team may enter a maximum of four robots. i. Upon entering four robots, three can be of any mobility currently permitted, the fourth must be ei...

Re: AWS55 - 30th June 2018 - Dunchurch Village Hall

Ah OK, thanks. So in that case, in the event of a team entering multiple Ants (meaning more than 1, which includes myself), at least one of them has to be a walker or cluster or does that only apply to teams where they are entering 4?

Re: AWS55 - 30th June 2018 - Dunchurch Village Hall

AWS rules state a maximum of 4 bots per team, and at least one of the 4 must be a clusterbot or a walker.
Where is this mentioned in the rules?

Re: Much competition?

I guess it is quiet there because it is "off season" for the FW/HW events at the moment. It'll pick up again.

Re: Team Kaizen - Ikari

So it has been a while since my last post but I've been gathering all the parts together and the last piece was the OrangeRX Tx6i transmitter that came yesterday so today I've been busy. ;) Managed to successfully bind the NanoTwo and even get the 56:1 Solarbotics motors onto a PVC board with mounts...

Re: AWS55 - 30th June 2018 - Dunchurch Village Hall (TBC)

Done and done, Ikari and Osu will be there. Might have a third entrant as well if I can get that ready in time.

Re: Much competition?

I dunno to be honest as to where they hang out - I suspect more to the FRA forum but even then, Beetle builders tend to be part of a team that also runs a Feather or a Ant. There was the UWE Beetle Brawl back in February, I think there is another one at Robots Live! Burgress Hill (too far for me sad...

Re: BBC robot wars cancelled.??

Well they did say they were going to do a Featherweight event at one point (for series 9 I think) but they then shelved that indefinitely.
