Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

There was a discussion about this on the FRA forum. One alternative might be to simply rebind the controller to one another roboteer might have if that works for you? It'd mean they'd use their own controller.

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

I've only just heard back from the Church myself regarding the price to hire the place for the afternoon. They are OK with it though it will be on the 26th of September. More details to follow shortly.

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

So I've had a look at the updated legislation from the government and it looks as if gatherings of up to 30 people are permitted these days subject to appropriate measures. Since the Church has more internal area to space out in, my initial thought is that BotFest 4 will be hosted there with several...

Re: Team Oh, It Broke Build Logs

Shattered drilling what material? I find nice and slow with a bit of oil usually helps in metal. I've snapped drill bits in HDPE but that usually comes with any of the following: the result of a jaunty angle, bad holding of the drill or bending whilst drilling.

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

Hello everyone, With the advent of Covid-19 and recent government messages, I am sorry to announce that I'll have to suspend BotFest 4 until such a time as when it is deemed safe to resume and I cannot make any accurate speculation as to when that might be. Like the Beetle Brawl, I'll be reviewing t...

Re: What transmitters are the favourite now?

Having not used a FS-i6, I couldn't comment. I find the Orange pretty easy to use though, took me about 10 mins to figure out where most of the functions where that I needed (largely multi-model support and curves).

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

Haahahaa, excellent, glad to hear the event is well received! I'll see if I can get some time in on getting the arena sorted over the next week or so to get the area floor raised and the pit floor painted. With any luck, it might even have some proper lighting in it this time as well.
