Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?

Further to recent updates, I've made a video:

I've got it to do telemetry. It gives the battery voltage and microcontroller temperature right now.

One of @MarkR 's WIP brushed ESCs with RX :P
There is only one in existence, its right channel can't reverse and the firmware isn't 100% working... :)

They will be ready when they're ready.

Re: Parts trade

I would be happy to trade, but I don't think we're allowed to send Lipos through the post. Royal mail have a restriction on Lipo batteries in particular. We can send them by some other method, but it can get expensive quickly. --- I wouldn't want my postie to be safe from CV, only to get ignited by ...

Re: Eddie J - DisinfectANT , Cilit BANG, Kinnettic Disassembly

If that (huge vert) gets into a competition, I think it will pick up "best engineered" very, very easily!

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?

If you look carefully in the photograph, you can see the bodge wire. It is 3mm long. Oops :)

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?

I have no idea when/if it will get into production.

I am currently stuck at home, like everyone else. I'm tweaking the firmware. That is quite interesting, I have learnt how to write avr assembly language :)

I hope the Antweight robot scene will restart when it is possible!

Re: Team Ions build diary

@Kyro: yes, the N20s all have a (+) on the back, but are they always wired up the same way internally?

Given the huge number of variations on the N20 motor, I wouldn't be surprised if they're 50/50 :)

Re: Team Ions build diary

The motors arrived but I have no idea what/if they are what I ordered. There are no markings. Is it safe to use the 9v battery trick to test them (just to see if they work)? Absolutely safe. 9v will not kill the motors, especially with no load. Also a 9v battery probably has quite high internal res...

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?

A minor status update, the current prototype is now close to the final form factor, I've made a few (minor) cock-ups in this design, but it was not final anyway. These will be fixed in the next respin. It looks like it will probably work and drive 1.8 amps per channel, I need to do a lot more testin...

Re: Team Phyte Antweight Builds & Event Reports

I'm glad everyone had a great time, I had a look at the live stream a couple of times, it looked good.

I've ordered some N10's & hope to pair them with MarkR's up & coming ESC'S with built in receiver.
Don't hold your breath, but I am still working on it!
