Andy, 2mm HDPE bends really well when heated (I use my hot air gun). When cold, however, It has a tendency to snap, or, if it does bend, return to it's original form pretty quickly. Wolkig's flipper is made from heat-bent 2mm HDPE.

I may be getting this completely wrong, and as the old saying goes 'too many cooks spoil the broth', so I may be causing more trouble than I'm solving by jumping in, but here goes... Michael, as I understand it, you plan to use a 4 channel transmitter. If this is the case, both the left and right st...

Thanks again for your help Peter. On the topic of old radio gear, my next door neighbor has been doing RC aeroplanes for years, and has what can only be called a museum of radio gear, from a whopping great box thing  to a DX6i. It's amazing to see the progress made in technology.

Thanks for the advice Peter. I have been looking around, and just noticed this: http://www.micronradiocontrol.co.uk/scorpion_22.html (top motor, with the 1980 kv wind) It's slightly more expensive, but would it be good for the job? I know it seems heavy, but it's going in a walker, and I *should* ha...

Thanks for the suggestion Peter. Would it be possible to put a longer shaft into that motor? I'm planning to mount the disk on the shaft.

Brushless Motor

Hi All, I thought I'd tap into your collective experience for help choosing a brushless for a spinner. I have a couple of possibilties. Firstly, would this do the job: http://robotbirds.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=56_287&products_id=4266 or would this be better: http://www.micronradiocont...

I think that a micro gearmotor drive system would give it a better chance of outmaneuvering other bots. I also think that HDPE or similar would be great armour. It's sad to see Pants go, but I'll be interested to see the new Super Pants

Thanks for your help andy, but as I understand it, that would only give on or off, not a neutral in the middle.
