Thanks for having me and my friends down guys. Was good to see a few old faces and meet some new people too. Would love to enter something decent next time if you do something round these parts again.

Re: Ant Freeze 2014 - Nuneaton, January 18th
I might be able make it as there's a possibility I may be driving at the time... All for melees in whatever system. However I think the winner/losers bracket system Scott mentioned would have to be used. It also depends on variables like how much time we have/how many people are there etc. Sounds go...

Richmond Fighting Robot Club 5
Just a placeholder message to say that I am considering reviving RFRC for a date in May 2014 . I know it may be jumping the gun slightly to announce such things so far in advance but I know there's been a lot of people interested in hosting non-AWS events so thought I better throw my hat in the ring...

Re: Dual servo lifters?
I agree that your method does much to prolong the life of a servo. However, as my scoop hangs out way in front of the chassis I'm not entirely sure how I could implement such a linkage. Perhaps some sort of rotating axel connected to both arms? Maintaining full 360 degree rotation of the scoop is an...

Re: Dual servo lifters?
It's more for symmetry than anything else  Thanks for the reply Pete. The servos I was thinking about using were these: http://www.graysonhobby.com/catalog/redcon360degreemetalgearservomicroservo-p-2029.html In a robot similar to this image.jpg As I can't really see a way of having the arms no...

Re: Peter Wallers Robot Ramblings
Hi Rhys, I had a look on caraselle however I only seemed to turn up numerous "super sticky paper" offers. I did find this though: http://www.caraselledirect.com/_/caraselle_jar_bottle_opener_in_green_made_in_the_uk.2717-1 I'm not entirely sure how useful it would be but i purchased one out...

Dual servo lifters?
Forgive me if this is a silly question, bit rusty so thought I should ask. In my newest robot " China Drum " I intend to use 2 metal gear servos for the lifting arm. I'm just about to place the order but its suddenly occurred to me that there may be a flaw with this idea. If the servos are...

Re: AWS 42 ?
I have no objections to beetleweights in theory, more weight classes is a good thing. However as Scott mentioned its a matter of finding time for them amongst all the other events. With the fleas, non-spinners and annihilators at the end we are already pushed for time. I know the last AWS was an exc...
Re: AWS 42 ?
If people are up for more non-AWS events I could potentially host a few more RFRC's next year? Usually a very relaxed atmosphere as its not as full on as an AWS. The arena's are pretty knackered though. Did somebody end up with that assault course Simon was getting rid of a while back? That could be...

Re: Peter Wallers Robot Ramblings
Looking great Pete. Nice idea with the tubes, may have to borrow that off you at some point.
Quick question, where do you source your lint roller from? In need of some for the new build and the only stuff I seem to be able to get my hands on is the rather useless paper stuff.
