Re: Ant Freeze 8

Would it be a better idea to replace the axe category with a pusher category? There's not all that many axes, so it might be better grouping them into freestyle. If the idea is to have a weapons only event then that's cool though. I'm all for encouraging people to make more axe bots. They're always...

Re: AWS 61 - Wolverton, Milton Keynes - 15th March 2020

Unfortunately I think that I'll have to pull out today. I have a hospital appointment tomorrow. And as minimal as the risk might be, I don't think it's fair for me to risk spreading anything to vulnerable people.

Hope it all goes well. See you all at the next event.

Re: Antweight 4WD wiring

I definitely mean to have them in parallel. I was asking if people string them together like Luke is describing. It definitely makes sense to do it. I'm just wondering how worthwhile it is given that I'd lose drive on one side if the wire between the ESC and the first motor gets broken. Having redun...

Antweight 4WD wiring

One for those f you that have 4WD bots. Is it preferable to daisy chain your motor wiring, or to have each motor have its own set of wires? By daisy chaining I mean that, for example, the positive wire of the 2nd motor would come from the positive terminal (or plug) of the first motor rather than be...

Re: Antweight Rules Proposal

That all makes sense. My original reason for asking came from a design I considered. Sort of a fingertrap type design whereby an opponent could get grabbed, but couldn't get away. The downside would be that it would be hard to release them in a controlled way, so the kamikaze divebomb into the pit m...

Re: Antweight Rules Proposal

I'm not sure if this thread is considered closed, but I thought I'd use it to raise a discussion about the aggressor rule: 4i) The Aggressor Rule – If two robots fall into a pit or dropoff at the same time ending the fight, where one bot can be clearly identified as the aggressor to this action, the...

Re: Team 1202 build Diary

I like my sticks to both self centre, so I bought a spare self centring part form ebay. I don't know which transmitter you use. I use a Flysky FS I6. Link to what I bought below. You may or may not be able to buy the right one to fit your transmitter, but worth a look. Fitting the parts is very simp...

Re: AWS 60 - Headington, Oxford - 30th Nov 2019

Me and my son Thomas had a brilliant time on the weekend! Thanks again to all involved in the running of the day. This might just be me being a bit dim but is there somewhere that has the results for the day? I would be interested to see how Thomas did at his 1st event. He was knocked out after pin...

Re: Team Antiquarian & Anthony's Ant Army ready for battle

I wouldn't say that try again flail again is useless. It put a pretty hefty dent in the bottom of one of my robot's (Kaizo, flipper) metal cased servos. It still works, but if that hit had been on the chassis then it probably would have done some damage.
