Re: AWS 62 - Summer/Autumn 2021

I'm going to have to agree with the others, I don't see any issues with modified rc cars and such like. It provides a cheap and easy way into antweights for beginners, and they're never particularly competitive, so it's not like there's no incentive to build your own. I believe the rule was initiall...

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

Looks like we're out of luck. The official rules state the only way "Team sports" are allowed are if the sport's national governing body have submitted an action plan to the government, and that action plan has been approved by the government. The details are on here..... https://www.gov.u...

Re: Antweight 4WD wiring

I don't see it being a problem, what are the chances of the wire between the esc and the motor actually getting broken? They're not likely to get directly hit given they'll be right in the middle of the robot, and if a wheel takes a hit, the gearboxes break before the electrical connection is damage...

Sunnysky r1106 - they're the most robust of the little 110X size motors I've found.

Re: Rules Question: Multiple Clusters on a team?

You can definitely enter multiple clusters on one team, it's the 4th spot that is limited to a cluster or walker, the first three spots are open and can be anything.

Re: Silly American question

This is definitely the most unexpected question to find here, but I do actually know the answer! Stoke is a very common place name in Britain, it's derived from the old English word 'stoc', which means settlement. Sub means under or beneath. (ie. submarine, sub-standard, etc.) Don is from the old En...

Let's just say that half way through the event I decided make an additional armour panel for the top of my robot.

Re: ESC questions & why not USA shipping

The T16 looks like a good option, I've got the smaller T8sg which seems nice so far. Having the option of multiple protocols on one tx is great.

Re: Antweight Rules Proposal

You do definitely need a way to release your opponent, you can only hold for 20s, so if you couldn't get them in the pit you'd be in trouble.
