Re: Esc and Receiver

So I realised today, after being at AWS that I don't have any more switches, and I have no idea where I could get some. Does anyone have any recommendations? Preferably something relatively easy to solder as soldering still isn't my strong point :-? Also I realised that my basic electronics knowledg...

Re: Esc and Receiver

Well due to parts getting lost in the mail and other mishaps, I will only have the one bot for this weekend :( However, everything has finally arrived! My intention is to build 2 more bots over the next couple of months, hopefully one of them will be at least a little competitive! I ended up getting...

Re: Esc and Receiver

Im not sure if its to do with the polycarb i used but, it kept warping around the edges, making it difficult to use. Maybe I need to get some new stuff

Re: Esc and Receiver

Hi again, bit delayed but so was the delivery! I've got myself some LemonRx feather light receivers and some LiPo's. Still unsure of what ESC to get but I have a few ideas. Also I was looking for some Plastic to make the bot out of. The last one was made entirely out of Polycarb, and although it wor...

Esc and Receiver

Hi again, i'm back. Now that uni is almost finished for the summer, I wanted some way to occupy some of the free time that I would otherwise waste! My plan is to build another Robot, as as bad as Mildly Effective is, it's pretty reliable and I kinda like it as is. Because the transmitter for M.E is ...

Re: Newbies Build Diary.

It's been a while but I have returned! AWS went about as badly as it could have done, thanks in part to my complete inability to attach my lifting arm which fell off in both battles, leaving me upside down with no way to right myself! So I decided to completely remake the chassis of Mildly Effective...

Re: Newbies Build Diary.

Well after a couple of weeks working on it on and off, I have finally finished my ant, Mildly Effective! It is very poorly built due to my lack of real tools and inability to cut in straight lines, but it holds together with a bit of help from some duct tape! The lifting arm has been giving me troub...

Re: Newbies Build Diary.

You do need to confirm the chemistry of your battery. If it isn't a LiPo then technically you wouldn't need a bag but I'd always err on the side of caution. One of my Ants uses a LiFe battery and I'd still put that in a charging bag. If the battery is a NiMh, I'd suspect you'd be OK without a bag t...

Re: Newbies Build Diary.

Hi all, been a while Due to Uni work, progress has been intermittent, but there's not much left to do to be ready for the next AWS. I have signed up for it on Antlog and was just wondering if I needed to do anything else before the event. I'm looking forward to it, and meeting all of you and testing...

Re: Newbies Build Diary.

Hey again. As I have never properly used CAD before, this took me quite a while and although it isn't very detailed, something i haven't quite figured out yet, this is roughly what the currently nameless ant will look like. I don't imagine this 'weapon' will do much, but at least it acts as a self r...
