This is a close-up of the original Pants internal workings. Unfortunately they are obscured by tape – I used the wrong glue at first and in the sun it gave way. The wheels are mounted directly from the servos and are for model aircraft. The ariel is tucked away between the two drive servos. Next to the port servo is the receiver. This is a standard 4 channel 40Mhz receiver. Next to the starboard servo is the battery- a nickel metal hydride single cell. 4.8v, 110mAh. It just plugs on to the servo. I can recharge it with my standard receiver charger. Finally we have the lifting servo and arm. This is positioned to give maximum force to Pants self-righting weapon.The body is made from nylon sheet and is stiff enough to work without any additional structure.
