Sneak peek at Jiggy. Nearly assembled! Still got 40g for the wheels, hinges, sides, lid, and whatever nuts and bolts I come up with!

Vid of Jiggy in this early stage of development.
I don't really do the whole design / plan thing? I more have a rough mental picture and start cutting. I just don't have the attention span to... Think... About things.

i would move the lipo down into the gap between the polycarb and drive motor... looks like it will fit to me...

would the servo also fit in the same gap on the other side? or would this negatively affect the grabbing arm?

having the weight above and behind the motors is making it more prone to leaning back...

i had a simmilar problem with the first iteration of mantis so i had a steel plate at the front and pointlessly thin armour at the back to try keep the weight forward of the motors... rear armour was milk bottle hdpe and well... a spinner mangled my internals during the rumble... plus if you watch mantis in its fights you can see it still kicked the front up unless i was delicate

this is why v2 is longer with the weight further forward and now i only get the front lifting if i reverse then accelerate quickly...

having a tail would also allow your wheels to be lifted off the ground if anyone got in under your scoop...

it is a good looking scoop though...

A thin tail would only allow for one wheel to be of the ground at once though, right? Rejiggling the innards might just need to happen, which I wouldn't mind. I'm gonna finish this and see how it behaves first though

So against my advice, my brother went with DasMikros because "That's what you use" (Yeah, I'm also 9 years older, plan to stop using them as I buy new escs, and have significantly more experience soldering.) and then immediately soldered 2 of the pads together. When I tried to desolder, one of the pads came off with the solder.I guess he overheated it too? Anyway, DasMikros are flimsy. We know this. In theory I can solder the wire to a component on the board and the pad falling off ain't the end of the world. My question is: Which one? I saw a DasMikro picture a while back showing where each pad connected to (IE. where to solder to if the pad came off) but alas, I cannot find it.
The pad in question is the signal pad closest to the edge of the DasMikro.
If anyone can gis a hand here, 'twould be immensely appreciated! :D

I'm talking about a DasMikro 2s6a - one of these:

And it's the bottom left pad in the image

ok bottom left connects to the 2k resistor next to it... if you can connect there it should work

as i understand it, from a damaged pad you follow the line back and run from the first component you meet closest to the pad

if there is a break between two components, a wire connected between them works...

you can get conductive pens to colour in the missing trace but i have no experience in using these and therefore cannot say whether they are any good...
