I got the new boards fitted into the 3020 quite easily. Took a bit of fiddling to work out I needed to cut a trace and jumper another to get it working. I'd switched from the Due to the Arduino Uno as the Due was being hassle.

In the second pic on the right you can see the Gshield ontop of the Uno and just tot he left a 24v Step Down regulator feeding 10V into the Uno. The Uno could get power solely from the USB but this provides a nice way of ensuring the arduino is always controlling the GShield if power is there.

The original spindle control is still there has half the power supply is integrated into it and it works fairly well. Future plans involve a brushless spindle though!

For now I need to get the software tweaked and start trying to mill and cut some stuff with it. In all I've spent ~£400 on this raised by the two ebay antweights.

I genuinely want to know what happened to this :(

What happened was I was stubborn and refused to upgrade my PC to windows 8 to allow the kinect to work with it and was too poor to build a second box. :P

I decided to give myself a bit of a treat, so introducing 'Don't Hug Me I'm Scared'

Already tested and have learned 2 things. One that it can hit the bolt right at the back with hilarious results so I need to tweak that. And two, It's really good at exploding other robots even at minimum speed. It is afterall a~60g grade 5 titanium weapon system with a spinning diameter of ~175mm.

Just need to tweak that rear bolt and put the proper wheels on and it's set.

That looks really mean.
I guess the main weakness is running inverted assuming you last long enough to flip it.
Might have to come up with a very low profile robot to try and duck under the blade.

This one is more just a fun robot. Probably won't appear at AWS's in favour of more sensible spinners. And I do have other tails that can eb used to lower the bar height. :D

I never expected it would be easy to beat one of your robots I just like the challenge of trying.
It is only when you are fighting the best robots and drivers you get the biggest kick. ( or sometimes kicking )
Happy Christmas to one and all.

That is impressive I was hoping it would go inverted more often but I guess the gyro effect helps keep it the right way up.
Look forward to see it in action soon (against someone else).
