Re: AWS 51
Given that we have people travelling from Wales, Somerset, Gloucestershire, etc no it isn't!coolspeedbot wrote:bath, bristol and somerset? thats a bit far west isn't it?
I also live on the South Coast and almost every event is the wrong side of the M25 for me but wherever you live you have to accept that not all events, and not every AWS, will be on your doorstep.
Recently we seem to have quite a few people based in the south-west so an AWS down that way is not unreasonable (especially as Harry has volunteered to run it). The worse situation is when someone insists on running an event convenient for them but 200 miles from any other roboteer!

Re: AWS 51
I very much doubt Dover would ever be suitable for any robotic event.
But I can understand.

Any update on the venue? It getting near and I'm wondering whether to risk everything and start a completely new one or not.

I'm looking forward to your new creation - I loved the lifting bot before (https://youtu.be/5n-6cuIlm6g?t=1h26m48s). I quite like seeing innovative designs.AntRoboteer wrote:Any update on the venue? It getting near and I'm wondering whether to risk everything and start a completely new one or not.

Just an update, another hall is being looked into. Hopefully it will end the hunt for an available venue.

Good luck Harry; sure hope so!
Andy: Thank you so much! I am working on something which should be pretty crazy; I just hope it actually comes to something reasonably competitive.

Re: AWS 51
Okay, after checking for availability and looking at the hall itself, a venue has been found!
St John's Church Hall. The address is
Church Road
Peasedown St John
Somerset
BA2 8AA
Entrance may look like a driveway so I've marked it out on a map to make it easier.
