AWS 51

Post by PanoramicHarry »

Because no one else has stepped in volunteering to host the third Antweight World Series event of the year and that it's getting closer to the time of the year it usually comes around, after some discussions with David Weston at Colchester I am willing and hoping to step in and host the 51st AWS at Peasedown St. John (not far from Bath).

The proposed venue is Beacon Hall in my home village which is quite a big venue and will meet the requirements to host the event details can be found at http://www.beaconhall.org.uk/index.html.

Proposed date is October 29th and am checking with Beacon Hall if the venue is free.

It's a 3 hour drive, but should be able to make it there and back in a day. Or combine it with an end of half term trip.

Errrrr, will have to check with my step-dad if it's possible to drive to this event, otherwise I might have to pass on this one, which my little sister won't pleased about as it would be her first event with her robot.

Just had an email from Beacon Hall saying they're booked for the date until 5:30pm. :(

Will be on the hunt for a different venue that could end up being in Bath. If I can't find anything, I'll try Bristol.

Honestly I'd have thought there's more than enough room for two events at the end of the year :) I'll happily go to both Bristol and Basingstoke, and anywhere else for that matter...

Where would most people be staying if it does go ahead in Somerset?
