I've signed up; I'm afraid I'll have to ask if anyone can give two people a lift from Nuneaton station to the venue and back again :( sorry!

John,
Sara from 3D Print World expressed an interest in attending one of our robot competitions to see what we are all about so I told her about Ant Freeze and she is going to try and come assuming that's not a problem.
So if anyone is interested in finding out more about 3D printing and the materials on offer or maybe something they would like to be available it will be a good chance to chat.
She doesn't profess to knowing the detailed technicalities but seems to have a good knowledge about what is available.
They offer hiring as well as buying the printers and I know at least 4 roboteers have already bought Prusa i3 from them so they are well priced.
I take it you will not need my arena ?

I would still consider myself to be on a kind-of-hiatus, but I can't not attend an event when it's this close. I might even see if I can throw the components of my almost-working spinner together onto a simple 3d printed chassis during the week (as it was only the tracked drive that gave me problems with it). We'll see.

I might also have to ask for a lift from the station though, I'm afraid.

I'll put my entry in later in the week when I know what I'm doing.

Good to hear you're going to try and come back! :D

We'll try to sign up later in the week because we have no idea what we're doing either.

Hi Peter,
Sara coming is fine so long as it doesn`t turn into a promotional thing :)

I have the arena I built last time so thanks but I don`t need yours.

Event details

Please note there is now an extra island once you turn into MIRA, at this island take the first left into 'South Sector'

IMPORTANT BIT FIRST.....
SITE SECURITY
MIRA is a secure site and cameras are not allowed except in the Sports Club for private functions.
I will inform them what is going on and it should be all cleared ready,

camera phones have been included in the permissions this time just in case!

however please don`t photograph ANYTHING or wave cameras about ANYWHERE outside the club room,
do not photograph from the club room outwards either.
Doing so could mean confiscation of all cameras at the event and jeopardise any further events at Mira.

Official start time is 10am, (I should be there from 9 onwards, please try not to get there before me.)
this includes organising, setting up & sign ups etc., first fights planned to start at 11am

I`m planning on no later than 5pm finish but we'll see how it goes,
if everyone has had enough we can pack up but we probably won't get kicked out until the morning.

Planned events - subject to attendance, with 1pm-1.30pm break

Flea-Weight Knock Out

Main Event - Double Knock out as per AWS,

Nano weight knockout

Marbles - similar to the 'Hungry Hippos' game.

Tag Team Knockout

Annihilator

Football! (always popular)

Whatever else we can fit in....

SAT NAV Use CV10 0TU, that should be only for Mira and should get you straight there.

The roadworks along the front have now finished and there is a brand new traffic island at the entrance.
turn in and stop at the security gate, tell them you are here for the robot event in the social club and they will tell you where you need to go.
If you forget then its 1st left after the security, then left again.
The social club room is above the canteen.
Parking is opposite the canteen entrance.

(1)From M69
Take junction 1, head towards Nuneaton on the A5
You will go past a Texaco garage, then a Harvester, then the Hinckley Knight all on the right, if you are heading the right way.
Keep going on the A5, straight over three islands.
You will then come to some lights, keep going straight on the A5.
Then another island, straight over on the A5
There will be a bridge ahead, go over and straight on.

Mira will be on the right at the new island.

(2)From Nuneaton.
The best approach is leave Nuneaton on the A47 (Long Shoot),
At the end of the Long Shoot turn left at the lights onto the A5.
Go straight over the first island,
There will be a bridge ahead, go over and straight on.

Mira will be on the right at the new island.

(3)From Tamworth
Head towards Nuneaton on the A5
Keep on the A5 all the way,
After you pass the Red Gate Pub on the left you will enter a short dual carriageway, Mira is on the left at the end of this.

(4)From Burton
Take the A444 to the A5
Turn left,
After you pass the Red Gate Pub on the left you will enter a short dual carriageway, Mira is on the left at the end of this.

As I don't need to bring the arena I can pickup three from the station so Joey and whoever you are bringing plus Scott should be OK.
Let me know what times your trains are and I try and match my travel times assuming it is not too early.

Thanks for the offer Pete, very kind of you. I can get in at 4 minutes past any hour, so I'm assuming 9:04 would be the most sensible?

That'd work for us too - we get in earlier than Scott but we're happy to wait around. (I'm bringing Tracy, in her first event before she inevitably drives and builds better robots than me)
