I want to see you do a 12 wheel drive ant with those motors

I've thought about it, but it took me the best part of 2 hours just to wire this one up, so i dread to think what a 12 wheeled version would be like. I may give it a go, but I'm more likely to go for 2 or 4 wheels and use the extra weight in a weapon of some kind; two of these would drive an ant or flea fine, but would give you an extra 15g to play with compared to the usual gear motors.

I might have a go if I can find a reliable source for the motors that'll deliver to this part of our island.

I wish you luck :P One consideration is that the drive units use a lot of power; if all the wheels on my flea are stalled it draws over 3 Amps. Double that for 12 wheels, and you're gonna need either one of Pete's higher power controllers or a N2LVHP to avoid it going up in smoke.

Good sell ;-)

Thanks for that though. As you know, I don't know what any of that means apart from "you'll need XYZ to avoid smokey time".

I realised I hadn't actually looked into fitting the ant servo I planned; I'd just assumed it wouldn't fit. However having removed some of the servo case, I found I could just squeeze it in, albeit there's a little bit of a power bulge in the flipper now. It's not nearly as powerful as I had thought, as I wasn't factoring in running it off 1 cell, but it's better than the Nano servo in there previously; it can lift much higher and with a bit more power, so was definitely worthwhile (though still not quite good enough to self right). It means it weighs about 65g now, but that's more a good thing as It means I don't have to pack it with as much weight.

Haha, Might have to make a really terrible nano called that :P

I just watched through all the asdfmovies again as my usual source for names, but apart from 'There's something on your face' which better suits a spinner, there's not much more that that series has to offer sadly :L
