You're contradicting yourself quite massively there XD

The reason AWS35 was run on a Sunday was the fault of the venue (my old college), as they were booked on the Saturday - it ended up working out well as a large group of us got together for a meal on Saturday evening and much fun was had. Saturday tends to be better for most people though, for the reasons Simon and Dave have pointed out and also because it gives you a day to recover and travel back (if the distance is a problem, you might find it works out well for you to travel down on the Friday evening and return on Sunday morning - I've done this in the past ^^).

Also, this isn't the Eurovision Song Contest and winning the event doesn't mean you have to host the next one :)

Why not name the robots after roboteers, then? You could have Dave, Gary, Andy, Jim, Pete, etc.

As a heads-up, I'm most likely going to be putting myself forward to host AWS39. Just waiting on confirmation and pricing of the venue, but shouldn't be any issues. Just wanted to get my offer in early because I've got some cool plans ^^.
