That really is nice Jim.
I am working on a new Flippant but can't quite decide on fibreglass or 3D printing due to the forces involved.

Cheers chaps.
The chassis ranges from 2mm to 6mm in parts, and when braced, feels surprisingly strong. The 2mm curved parts feel rock solid, but 2mm flat parts flex a little.
Here is the controller I plan to use...

Image

It is a Baby Orangutan robot controller, with one of the mirco rx's piggybacked onto the controller.
Soldering was a S.O.B!! But I do like soldering. It is very therapeutic! :-?
The controller is loaded with the standard rc3pi software, which can be downloaded from the pololou website, and includes on board mixing, which all seems to work perfectly so far.
It is 30 x 18 x 10mm,and only weighs a coupkle of g's.
I have been testing it on this...

Image

And have tried it with 300,400,and 540 rpm gear motors, and although they are way too fast,I am going with the 540 rpm ones,as fast = cool,in my book. :D

Up to rev2 already...

Image

The original was too wide, the wheels were the wrong diameter, and the lifting arm was not long enough, only enabling the servo to move through 45 deg, enough to lift, but probably not enough to self right.
Also I am trying out some new tires...

Image

The tyres I usually use are on the left, and the new ones are on the right. They are pretty soft solid rubber. They weigh double the old ones,at 4.8g each. 29mm dia,and 14mm wide.
They are again paper handling rollers from printers.

New chassis due next Monday.
