Has Bobblebot competed?

SD200s have been running in Bobblebot for the last 7 years, no problems with reliability here.

I think there is a slight difference between "Driving" for 7 years or "fighting" for 7 years using the same servos

I probably should have clarified... no Bobblebot hasn't entered any formal competitions (it has had many test fights) and I would be amazed if anything ran in a competing Antweight for that amount of time. I'm well aware that the relatively gentle life it has enjoyed is not the same as full on combat

thanks modefied the servos without breaking them and am now stuck on the rc aspect of my ant i have bought a radiolink 2.4ghz transmiter and receiver and wired it all up and i didn't work i don't know why it wont work (maybe it dont like me ) could some one help me

Have you done the binding proceedure needed by these systems see instruction cut from suppliers web site.

This is done by powering up the transmitter and receiver, then a tiny button positioned at the end of the receiver case is pressed once." It is inside the rectangular hole.

A few ideas to get your R/C system working:
1. Are all the batteries fully charged and properly connected?
2. Are the servos plugged in the right way round? And in the right channels?
3. Have you "bound" the receiver to the transmitter? Not sure how you do this on the RadioLink kit, should be in the manual.
4. Have you waited for a few seconds after switching on? It takes the 2.4GHz stuff a little while to "boot up".
5. Try stripping the system down to the minimum, just one unmodified servo connected to the Rx (and a battery of course!)

You don't say how it "doesn't work"; does nothing happen at all, or do unexpected things happen?
If nothing at all happens, try the ideas above. If it doesn't work as expected, but you do get some (sort of) control try the following:
1. Check that the servos are connected to the correct channels.
2. Check the channel reversing switches on the transmitter.
3. Check the mixing switch on the transmitter.
4. Check the pot's in the modified servos are centred.
5. Adjust the trims on the transmitter.
