Yes it was another good event we got one complete non spinner contest finished plus quite a lot of ad hock fights and melees and a couple of demo's up on the big screen. Being positioned next to the audience ment we got quite a lot of interest between the heavy and feather fights and being local for Reading Robot Club I think we might get a few new members. I was looking at the Ant entries and we had 7 ants from 5 teams who started at Reading Robots Club and another 4 ants from the Heavy/Feather people attending. As Simon said we were given as much freedom as was possible in a combined event and the fact that Alan's dad took the trouble to check we were ok and enjoying ourselves shows that we are welcome and not just tolerated at Robot Live Events.

Results and stuff at http://windisch.co.uk/robots/rrc/rrc16/index.htm

I've left a couple of names out, if anyone can fill them in I'd be most grateful.

Third in the nonspinner was non other than your son Nathan with Fast Dalek. You will be in trouble if he finds out you forgot that.

Thanks for running the ants this weekend, it was great to be able to enter Ant Awe into a proper competition.

Well done to Simon with Dynamite for winning the non spinners and to the other winners as well.

Ant Awe is getting a couple of small changes (faster motors are first on the to do list) but I was really pleased with how well it worked for its first outing.

Thanks again and I hope to see you all again soon

If we do this again I'll see if I can bring some modified servos and stuff and let HW or FW roboteers or their kids have a go at building an antweights.

Something occoured to me a while ago: Will's, Wendy's and Alex's ants are all illegal due to the metal armour rules, stating that it can't be a bent over plate. Hope they can change that, would be a shame for them not to fight
