I'm still on 40MHz, but that may change soon, but not before this event.

I know for a fact that my frequency clashes with Hooligan (a FW), but if he's not there, I'm good :)

I have signed up and all mine are on 2.4 GHz.
I notice it is a 6.00 pm start on the Saturday maybe we can get going a bit earlier to keep the crowd interested while they are waiting.

Worked for me. I was driving Stewie around in front of the audience flipping a box about and then Baby Hell axing big chunks of foam and generally showing off :P. The audience loved it :)

Simon what do I need to organise for this event. I assume you want the arena but what about score charts, certificates etc. Do we know what time we can start.

Someone try and convince these new robots to come to the AWS in November. Would be ace to have a large number of ants again.

Hi all,

I sent an email last night, asking about the start time, but have had no answer yet. I'll keep you posted.

Still no reply to any of these questions, so might I suggest a working plan of simply having the arenas ready (I'll bring my speedway and football) and we go for a cut down competition on each of the sessions (for those who are coming on both days).

In fact, we can have two styles of competition: one just for dedicated antweight roboteers, with our usual style one bout every five minutes and a longer-running slower paced competition for those who have another weight class and who will be there for all three sessions. The general style of 2 day competitions for featherweights is to have three or four bouts over a two hour period, because it takes so much longer to get the big robots ready and because featherweights are sharing the arena with heavyweights, so those roboteers just won't be ready/able to keep up the pace of competition that us antweight roboteers are used to (also because they'll also need time to do their other robots as well).

So how does that sound? does it make sense?

Simon
