Robots Live (and RRC 16) Reading - 11th / 12th October 2008

Post by Simon Windisch »

I'm adding this topic to the forum to make things more organised. Please also see the original topic here

You can bet that we're coming along, and will be telling everyone that we know about it!

OK, as discussed at AWS 26, I'm in negotiations with Robots Live about us all coming along to this event and making it a Reading Robot Club.
They're not so sure about giving us the bottom five frequencies exclusively, but I'm hopeful that we can come to an agreement on that. Spektrums won't have a problem with that, of course, so as long as we're thoughtful, and turn our transmitters off when we're not fighting, then that should be OK.

Apart from that, they're happy to have us along. To quote Dave
I will always like the Ants (having done them for many years), so they will always have a place at our show.
So keep that date in your diaries.

We will be going anyway with our feathers (and possibly heavy) and I now have 11 weeks off to assemble the pile of ant parts so you can count on us being there with at least one ant.

This might be an event other then AWS that I would like to go to. See some FW matches and maybe some HW in action, or will it be very restricted where the roboteer are allowed to be?

As a robot builder of any weight class you have virtually free-reign as to where you go, but ask the arena marshal before you go in there

Probably just the Saturday, but we'll be there both days, so we'll see if there's any competition on Sunday...
