Starting the thread early to see who would like to host the next one...if there are multiple entries then we'll discuss at 22.

That would be cool to have an AWS not in the Britian, dunno how many people would pay to fly over but I would :)

Yes, pick a date in the school holidays (Er Saturday 26th May, even though it conflicts with London Expo) and we'll be there

AWS23 needs to be around the end of Jun, going into July.

Not sure when is good for school holidays around then. It would be good for another trip abroad.

The last day of school is Friday 20th July, after which we go away on holiday, not that it's done for my benefit, but a lot of people with school aged children go on holiday as soon as the school holidays start. I remember missing the bristol AWS because we went off to Cornwall that very day.

If we are going to have an AWS outside of the UK mainland, we need to give as many people as possible the chance to go.

To do that, I think we need to give as much notice as possible, and make it school holiday time. I certainly can't consider an overseas trip this year - I've already booked my summer holiday.

I would suggest AWS25 for Easter 2008 or AWS26 late July 2008, book it up now so everyone has time to plan/save up for it.

We'd love to do an overseas trip, but we would need to make it a family holiday in order to justify the expense (four people, one salary!).

(And remember, PeterW's a pensioner now! :P )

Just to clarify this thread is for people offering to host not a 'count me in' type...yet...

An AWS overseas is slightly unfair for us people who wont be able to affoard it and don't have the time to take the necessary planning...I wouldn't be able to go and I doubt a lot of people on a student budget would.
I put in a bid on an earlier thread anyway, see how that goes down.
