BTW I have just about perfected my "pay to play" remote control system. It's a black box with a joystick on a switch on it to drive or flip the robot.

No transmitter to break or aerial to bend or poke in people's eyes.

Do you think I could run a Futaba Skysport from a 12v car battery? I know it's expecting 9.6v (perhaps even more) do you think 12V would break it? If it wouldn't, then I could leave it on all day, and just hide the transmitter under the table.

HobbyStores sell a charger for about ?25 that takes a 12V supply and can charge a Tx. At a previous AWS someone had one.

My Tx charger gives 10.5V output. Lastly you have to bear in mind 12V batteries give out more than 12V.

Ok then entries are now closed.
Thanks for all the people signed up, looks to be a busy sunday.
Good to see a lot of interest and it looks like we are going to be having over 20 ant enteries including me and ants.
I will start designing my "pay to play" system over the next week.
It will run on 4aa ni cad's.
Should run for a long time, if not then it should run long enough.
Il soon be sending you an email simon if I could buy several copies of the rrc and il mix up a video we a few good fights with a constant reference to buy the full dvd's off you. Since I will be building the pay to play ants I might make a little video of how i did it so any one who is really interested can take a look at it as well.
Any hows im just frowing things in the air. And since this thing is anual i might invest into a london excel champion

Hi Marco,

Is there any way I could just send you the files over the internet?

It'll be bi-annual and a competition sounds like a good idea, but it might get in the way of just keeping the robots running and keeping the crowd interested?

Anyway, good work. Thanks for doing all this

I think the best adress if you would like to send em is this one
M.A.Roberts1@Bradford.ac.uk
Its the uni one and i am guessing they expect large files considering us graphics people sending each other out work.
Im not too sure what ur sending simon, a set few of ur favourite rrc fights?

We had to queue for about 20 minutes, I don't know what the arrangements are, but the admission price is pretty low anyway.

Last time I went on the Sat and got there for 9:15 (earlybird entry) and walked almost straight in.

Then about 11ish went outside for some food and there was a huge queue.

For the extra money and getting up early the 9am start

Forgot to mention I will be there from about 9-6. Meeting my brother in the morning, a friend in the afternoon then some more friends at 5:30 to go out drinking. Will be a long day and I won't even be driving ants.

Hi,

Just checking if anyone knows if there's going to be an arena there, other than the horrible Behemoth one?
