Well, it's all gone a bit quiet on the Marco front, so I've sent the following email to the expo organisers.
Hi There,

My name is Simon Windisch and I was part of the group of antweight roboteers (antweight robots are the small ones that fit in a four inch cube) that attended your last Expo.

We are planning to attend again, but our contact with your organisation, Marco Roberts, seems to have lost touch with us, so I am attempting to pick up where he left off. Let me tell you our plans...

approximately four roboteers to appear on each day
We'll have our robots running all day, and your visitors will be able to drive them.
We're planning on bring our own arena.

So what do we need from you?

1. From my memory, you had power via three pin plugs available, am I right in saying this?
2. WIll our roboteers get free or discounted entry
3. We will need at least one table, to display the robots, and put an arena on. Will this be OK?

We really enjoyed attending the expo in the spring, and with luck we could increase the antweight roboteer attendance for next spring, and maybe even hold one of our World Series events there.

Many thanks for your time - Simon Windisch

Oh well, no reply.

Oliver, I'm building a lightweight arena. Would you like to take it on Saturday, and I can bring it back on Sunday?

London Expo October 2006

Post by Kane »

Hi Guys,

Thought I would check out the thread as I haven't heard from Marco...

In short, I need you to all email me with the names of people going so you can get on the security list. You do not need to pay entry or queue, and if you have any problems with entry, give me a call. You'll get the number if you send me an email :-)

Roaming Robots will be attending with the featherweight (5x5 arena) and we will have the polycarbonate antweight arena. We will not have the roof unless we can squeeze it in somehow. We should have a smooth floor, but if you want to run spinners please bring an arena with a roof.

We do have limited space. This really will depend on how many turn up.

If you have videos to display, we have a projector and speakers on a laptop. DVD's are ok, but it easier if it's something I can copy to the disk and add to a playlist.

So, names -> kane@kaneaston.co.uk

If you have any other questions, please email me.

Hi Kane, I have sent you a mail.

I'm not sure it is a good idea to run spinners unless it is for demonstration only. Also we would need an enclosed area for that.

Does anyone have a recent AWS DVD> That would be good to play.

Sorry Oliver, I didn't see your question, it's two foot by three, and I've made it out of much thinner wood than usual. It's in the style of a football arena, and I have a football for it as well. I'll varnish it tomorrow evening, to give it a smooth ride over the logos.
