Roaming Robots - Portsmouth Oct 8/9

Post by BeligerAnt »

Roaming Robots winter tour is coming "down south" on the 8/9th October. John is happy for us to run ants there. Anyone interested?

This will be a "one off" rather than ants taking part in the whole winter tour. I expect most of us couldn't make all the winter tour dates anyway. It's 4 weeks before AWS18, so hopefully enough time to recover and rebuild!

You will have to be a member of RR (membership is ?10 p.a.) in order to enter.

I think RR events are a good chance for us to showcase ants. RR draw the crowd, and we get a captive audience of people interested in robots who might just think that an ant is more within their capabilities than a feather or heavy.

Please post below if you can make it. If we can manage a reasonable turnout, then we will all have to register through the usual RR channels.

Hi, that's tempting, but tricky for us, it's my wife's birthday that weekend...

Tell her you are taking her to the sea side for her birthday treat then later suddenly discover an event is being held there.

Roaming Robots do feathers too dont they? If Rhys' teachings go in at RRC7, I might build one for it.

This is part of the RR "Winter Tour", where they run a series of comps for feathers around the country and the overall winner gets some *CASH* :o

So I think for feathers you need to sign up for several of the tour dates. You probably also need to have signed up by now... See the RR site for details.

Any more takers? It's probably not worthwhile unless we can get at least 4 people going. I'd suggest only doing one day rather than both, I for one don't really fancy a whole weekend in Pompey.
