14th April - Sly Practice in the North West - The Returns

Post by PBx »

Following the overwhelming success of last years events  the sly practise will return at noon on the 14th April at the usual venue:

The Hunt Lane Tavern,
754 Middleton Road
Chadderton,
Oldham.
OL9 0LD

It is about 5 mins off the M62 J20 or M60 J21, the pub is child friendly, serves good lunches and welcomes roboteers - why wouldn't you go!

As usual, this is just an informal get together not a competition, but plenty of opportunity to see who you can beat :D I only have an open arena so no spinners I'm afraid.

Let me know if you are interested.

i may have an enclosed arena but it will be smaller than an official arena so it wpould just bea test of destruction power against an old robot say btbboh?

i'll be down for this and i'll bring along my arena too, seen as its custom printed etc it would be good to show it off :D

I'm interested, just need to sort out transport from wherever I'll be at the time XD hopefully it should be lots of good relaxed fun, possibly with chips :)

Excellent :D

If you are not driving, you just need to get to a handy train station (like Bolton, or even Manchester) and I'll pick you up.

I can make it to Mills Hill, am I right in thinking that from there it's just down the road from the pub?

That's 2-3 mins in the car. Perfect if you can do it. I was thinking of making life easy for you so you didn't have to change!

I can make it easily, I need to change anyway as I'm going from Wakefield XD am I right in thinking there's no formal sign ups?

(am I also right in thinking that I use that phrase too much?)

Just realised the date and I also realised I have no robots yet xD
It's seems I shall have to get making this next week
Not had time to make an enclosure yet so I'll try this week but no promises

You are also right on all counts

I didn't do a sign-up as the numbers were unlikely to be overwhelming, so its just a case of 'run what ya brung'.

Let me know what time your train gets in and I'll pick you up.

Just concentrate on the robots, we can use my arena (I don't think we have any spinners coming).
