Hey, guys,

just for advertisement ;)
Our next Event (German Roboteers Association) takes place on 8/9.10.2011 at Bochum/Germany (as it is always).

Informations: http://public.roboteers.org/mmm/

Due to the fact that it´s in German, you can ask us for questions.

- Antweight (150 gram)
- Raptorweight (6 kg)
- Featherweight (13,6 kg)

I heared of some british roboteers to travel to MMM 12, cause this we try to get more participants from our neighbours.
Some dutch Roboteers will also be there.

The application form (is it the right word? :P) will start approximately 3 or 4 Weeks before the Tournament starts. I will remeber you with another post here.

The shortest path for traveling in our opinion is the Dortmung Airport:
http://www.dortmund-airport.de/dortmund ... .html?&L=1

Hotels we´re using are the B&B Hotel and the "Ibis Hotel" as you can find here:
http://www.accorhotels.com/de/hotel-144 ... ndex.shtml
http://www.hotel-bb.com/

Date was mentioned in my first post.

Hope to see some new guys, as a substitute for our burst Tour to the O2-Arena (easter). ;)

Just looking at the checklist - do we really have to bring our own tables?

Oh, no, you don´t have to, the checklist is a bit old (some years ago our Event tooks place somewhere else).
In the hall are tables for everyone. Some roboteers take theire own tables, but you also can use the local tables.

German Antweight rules, at translated by MadZab at http://forum.roboteers.org/thread.php?s ... #post73900
Antweight Rules 2.0

1. The Arena
1.1 The arena is a 1 by 1 meter square.
1.2 Starting positions are on the diagonal axis of the square, each at a distance of 25 cm from the center of the arena.
1.3 The arena is at most 50% fenced, robots must be able to fall off the other 50% of the arenas edges.
1.4 The event organiser may place arena weapons in the arena, these may run continuously or at intervals or be triggered by the robots themselves.
1.5 The arena has to be completely (all four sides and roof) surrounded by protective walls made out of a shatter-proof material (e.g. Polycarbonate). The height of these protective walls must be at least 60 cm from the arena floor up.

2. Weight restrictions
2.1 Robots must weigh no more than 150 g at the start of the battle (exception see 2.2)
2.2 Robots using legs for propulsion may weigh up to 225 g. The curve the feet take must not be circular or at an even speed (e.g. a servo with a mounted arm is not a walking mechanism according to this rule). The length of a step must be at least 1.5 times its height.
2.3 Robots able to seperate into multiple bots (clusterbots) are allowed. At least one part of this robot must be remote-controlled. Every cluster element must have a main switch/removable link if it has a drive or a weapon at all.
2.4 A clusterbot has lost a fight when more than 50% of its clusters are immobile or have fallen off the arena. Rule 2.2 applies if all clusters use legs as active propulsion.

3. Size restrictions
3.1 The robot must completely fit into a cube of 10 by 10 by 10 cm.
3.2 The robot may unfold itself and increase its size after the battle has started.

4. Energy source
4.1. Batteries and accumulators should not contain free-flowing acids which may leak.
4.2. All drive systems must have a master switch that can shut down the system completely. This must be switched without tools. The "Off" position should be marked.
4.3. The maximum voltage is 24 V.

5. Weapons
5.1 Liquids used as a weapon that may contaminate the arena (e.g. oils) are prohibited (with the exception of burning fuel, see 5.12).
5.2 Nets, catching-lines and glue are prohibited as weapons.
5.3 Electronic weapons (radio jammers, lasers, etc.) are prohibited.
5.4 Explosives and explosion-based weaponry are prohibited.
5.5 Spinning weapons made out of brittle material that may shatter are prohibited.
5.6 The pressure in pneumatic systems is limited to 8 bar.
5.7 The pressure in hydraulic systems is limited to 15 bar.
5.8 Free flying projectiles are prohibited.
5.9 Leashed projectiles are allowed if the distance between the center of the robot and the tip of the projectile does not surpass a length of 500 mm. Leashed projectiles must be adequately fastened to the robot.
5.10 All active weapons must have a main switch or removable link (recommended) that shuts down the system completely. This must be operable without tools. 4.2 and 5.10 may use the same switch/link.
5.11 Thermal weapons may only be based on burning the following fuels: Lighter gasoline, hexamine fuel tablets, sparklers, propane, butane, ethanole.
5.12 Every thermal weapon using liquid or gaseous fuel must be able to be switched on and off via the remote control. Warning! Absolute care is necessary when employing fire-based weaponry!

6. Remote control
6.1 The following frequencies may be used for remote control: 27 Mhz, 40 Mhz, 418 Mhz, 433-434 Mhz, 868 Mhz, 2.45 Ghz.
6.2 Other systems of remote control are not allowed.
6.3 For every robot there must be a second pair of crystals (exception: See 6.4).
6.4 If the crystals in remote control or receiver are not easily replaced, the used frequency must be reserved at least one week before the event.

7. Fight
7.1 A fight lasts a maximum of 3 minutes.
7.2 A fight counts as won when the opponent(s) is immobilized or unable to fight or has fallen off the arena.
7.3 A flipped robot that cannot right itself up within 10 seconds has lost.
7.4 A robot counts as immobilized and has lost the fight if it is unable to move for more than 10 seconds.
7.5 Should the fight not be decided after 3 minutes, a jury of three judges decides upon a winner. The jury decision cannot be appealed.

8. Contact struggle
8.1. Robots are allowed to hold each other for a maximum of 20 seconds (bilaterally or unilaterally).
8.2. The referee will give a 15 second warning. If this is not observed after 20 seconds then the participants must disable their drives, and weapons and the robots reset on their starting positions. The time it takes to do this is not fight time.

9. Etiquette
9.1 The fight must not be interfered with externally. Control must be made solely by remote control. (exception: See 8.2)
9.2 The participants may not obstruct each other during the fight.
9.3 Insulting an opposing roboteer or their team members is prohibited.

10. Safety
10.1 All dangerous sharp edges on a robot must be covered when outside of the arena. Weapons must be secured against accidental activation.
10.2 Sharp edges on the robot must be painted in yellow.

11. The event organizer may disqualify robots for safety-concerns at any time.
11.1 In that case the event organizer must make suggestions to the participant that would lead to the robot being allowed back in the event.

12. Every robot or each part of a clusterbot must be legibly labeled with its name.

Team RCC will be there.

We book in the hotel "Tryp Wattenscheid". More expensive, but it gives exactly the comfort we want, and our "old bones" demand some comfort.
