It was good to have so many people and robots including quite a few new faces. I will try and get the results sorted out and posted today. Congratulations to Dan for what must have been an almost clean sweep.

Great event, and I finally win something, even though I sucked at the combat and got a bit bashed :P

Congrats to Dan for winning nearly the whole lot

Congratulations for all who won especially Dan for doing so well and Alasdair who had never driven before and won the football.
There appears to be a problem in the results of the Speedway. Terror Dactyl should have also appeared at the bottom of the chart so it and Stewie only got one run each in the qualifier round. It obviously didn't effect Stewie but sorry but to Jack Evans.

Hey guys

After some tinkering with Terrordactyl, it seems the axe servo is fine on 4.8v, but as soon at its introduced to 6v or more it goes completely mental.

The servo in question is a HPXF, which I know for a fact works fine of 7.4, as its been used in Stewie, Pants, Duff, and many others

I'm at a loss....

Hi Dave,

It might be sucking too much power out of the rest of system at 6v. Try to power it with a better supply?

And to Peter, thanks for doing all the paperwork. I've copied the results to http://windisch.co.uk/robots/rrc/rrc17/results.htm

Should I try using a bigger capacity battery ? Speaking of which, do you still have my old one that Jack was using ?

Presumably there is a BEC to provide the Rx with 5V? Powering an Rx at >6V is unkind to it, and anything could happen.

Since we know the HPXF is happy on 7.4V, my money is on the Rx causing the strange behaviour.

As Simon suggests, make sure you have a decent stable supply voltage. If the voltage dips it will cause havoc with the Rx (Tired batteries are a major cause of the "interference" that only seems to start after a few rounds of an AWS IMHO  )
