After the successful AWS25, we decided to start our own championship (Antweight Benelux Championship i.e. ABC).
The competition will be held twice a year and twice a year there will be a test day.
Next to the event, there will be the Metamorphs workshop for the audience. In this workshop they can quickly construct an antweight using a kind of Velcro.
You are all very welcome to come and join us!
Test day: Saturday 23rd of August
ABC1: Saturday 1st of November
Location: NL, Eindhoven (Gameforce, same as AWS25)
(edited to include date in title - Simon)
1st Benelux championship: 1st November 2008
Moderators: BeligerAnt, petec, administrator
1st Benelux championship: 1st November 2008

Maybe somewhat foolishly we shall be flying the Union flag and representing the UK at the Benelux Championships. It just so happens it's half term week for us 8) and a short break in Holland sounds like a good idea after the mad panic of a big exhibition at work in mid-October.
Yes, it is the week before the AWS!

We had a nice time at ABC1 - thanks Carlijn (EFWAH)
Sadly there were only 9 robots, but we had a great scale model "Robot Wars" arena to play in (complete with doors to drive through, but no arena hazards or pit).
I can't remember all the results, but here's what I can:
Entries:
Fuzzy Buzzy, Team EFWAH, Netherlands
Temp, Team EFWAH, Netherlands
Katjuscha, Team RCC, Netherlands
Angelus, Team RCC, Netherlands
Midnight Oil, Netherlands
RONNY, Team Beligerant, UK
AntLifter, Team Beligerant, UK
Antipathy, Team Beligerant, UK
Shadow, Team Beligerant Too, UK
Non-spinner competition:
Winner: Shadow
Full combat:
Winner: Katjuscha
Second: Angelus
Third: Shadow
Best Driver: Leo van Miert
Both RONNY and Shadow stood up fairly well to a good throwing-around by Katjuscha. A few minor repairs and we will be ready for the AWS.
For the first time I had to do a quick TRANSMITTER repair during the competition. One channel of our Laser 4 suddenly stopped working. It seems one of the pot's on the stick has died. Managed to rewire to use the other stick, not ideal, but at least we got some sort of steering back. Something else to fix before next week...
