Thanks,

I plan to upgrade to full pressure once it has been marked at school. (Should be in the next couple of weeks)

it will then be welded together and switched to full pressure.

It will be going to the Robot Rumble next week where it will be on display & hopefully tested between shows.

I was planning to film more tests today but it hasn't stopped raining so they will have to wait.

hi all

BIG CHANGE
the motors are now drill motors
the flipper idea has been scrapped (for now) so it is gonna be a pusher!

Aftershock was given a complete rebuild a few weeks ago and is now within the weight limit and is working brilliantly

It now has a welded 5mm HDPE shell and the pneumatics system has been upgraded to increase the flowrate. After testing it at the Space Centre (and winning) it then got to round 3 of the UK championships before knocking itself out (unplugged it batteries).
After tweaking the drive and flipper it then did really well at Guildford winning the competition and 2 whiteboard fights

Tidal Wave 2 is also being upgraded at the moment to full pressure- the chassis is being strengthed and the flipper arm is being changed to help it cope with the increased force from the ram. So far it is looking good!

Whirlpool has also had a few minor modifications- new side panel to replace the ones that broke when major damage ran over it and a new paint job- everything else is the same as before.

Thats about it for the moment although I now have 12 weeks off to start something new.

Hi

thinking of making a new feather, wombat needs to be upgraded (it got k.oed by a rc car lol) but i had this idea in my head and i decided i should build it!

it will be called fodder(hope pete c dosen't mind) as i'm 99% sure it will be heavily damaged in it's 1st fight, it uses these motors/this speedo
http://www.technobots.co.uk/acatalog/On ... s_169.html

i know they are weak and slow but this is gonna be a fun bot, to make the audiance and roboteres laugh lol!

the armor will be 2mm or 4mm polycarb

no weapons at all, not even brute force lol, the motors go about 4mph

the battery is a 12v lipo

it will weigh about 1.5-2kg's so i can get as much speed as possible

looking to spend E150

any comments?

Jack, I'd watch out trying to use Lipos in a featherweight. The FRA dont like them, and if you read the rules, there's all sorts of ridiculous extras about em.

First off, you seems to talk against yourself. You mention they are slow and weak and they will go 4mph, but you still want it as light as possbile to get it faster..?

And besides you can get alot cheaper stuff then the one you linked with just a sabertooth 2x10 RC, cheap drill motors and some wheel from technobots.co.uk
