Yeah that's been a bit of an unfortunate clash this year, hopefully something will get resolved before then (maybe with the one-driver-one-robot rule) so that as many people as possible can still compete.
If not, I look forward to seeing it at whatever event we're both at

Just wondered, This is the dual motor ESC I'm using for drive. I've noticed it doesn't have the classic 3 wire plugs coming out of it that fit nicely and uncomplicatedly into the receiver, only two wires.
Does this mean I'll have to do some tweaking or is there an easily fixed explanation?

Before you criticize another person, first walk a mile in their shoes. Then, when you critisize them, you'll be a mile away and have their shoes.

Yeah easiest way would be to get hold of a pair of old servos (or something like a couple of servo extension leads) and cut the wires off them so you're left with the receiver plugs and a length of white-red-black (or orange-red-brown) wire. You can then put both black (or brown) wires into the 0V terminal, both red wires into the 5V terminal and one white (or orange) wire into S1 and the other into S2. You'll then have two servo-like wires coming from your Sabretooth that'll easily plug into your receiver.

I am hoping to start a featherweight.
So far i have found this much:
Speedo: ?43.13 Sabretooth 10A Dual Controller Technobots
Motor: ?18.93 Geared Motor (12Vdc, 200rpm) Active Robots
Motor: ?18.93 Geared Motor (12Vdc, 200rpm) Active Robots
Battery ????????????????????????????????????????????????????
RX ?35.00 Ar6100 Spektrum 2.4Ghz Robotbirds
The battery i need is a 12v 550mA nicd or nimh, which i cant seem to find.
I will get brackets and motor mounts welded up by P&P Precision Welders.
I dont know what to make the amour from yet
It will be protected by hinged skirts on every side, and a strip of hardened steel spikes on the front.
It will be fully invertible.

For battery I can recommend All-battery central on ebay:

I bought a pack of 24x4600mAh cells for a really low price.

may i recomend drill motors, they are 10quid each from argos and 50a boat controlers ?32 from ebay
For my stuff:

got a few questions about those speed controllers. If they run 50amps forward and 20 amps backwards on those drill motors, will the motors run at different speeds when the robot is turning on the spot (i.e. one motor running forwards and the other backwards) and if i made a 12v battery out of 1.2v 3800mAh cells from rc cars, does anyone know where i can get a cheap charger for them?haz wrote:may i recomend drill motors, they are 10quid each from argos and 50a boat controlers ?32 from ebay
