6mm ID rod

Post by Andrew_Hibberd »

I am looking for some very accurate 6mm ID tube steel ali or brass for testing out a pump design. Has anyone seen anyone supplying anything like this? I have seen carbon tube out there but I am not sure it will be up to the job.

Thanks

Just looking on ebay and the standard brass tube in this sort of size has a wall thickness of 0.45mm which means the nearest you can get is 7mm OD with a 6.1mm ID.

Don't know how accurate you need.

Thanks Pete

I have been looking at using the piston end from a small lego pump and remaking the body and piston from ali, so I can extend the stroke and get 7bar more easily from it. The internal diameter of the lego pump is 6.00mm, so i am not sure how well it will work with a 6.1mm bore. The other option I have is to make my own tube from aluminum and ream it out to 6mm. I will continue to look into it and may get some of that tube to test it out.
